The book forms a volume of 520 pages demy and contains nearly 100 Illustrations from the Author's photographs and sketches, not a few of which were made actually under fire. The actual impression of the moment set down by a keen-sighted actor in the campaign, who has the power of vivid presentment both with pen and pencil.

This interesting book contains a wealth of Daily Chronicle. "In every way a most valuable contribution to South African Daily Nexus. The FALL of the CONGO ARABS. By Captain SIDNEY L. HINDE.

With Map, Portraits, and Plans. Demy 12s. 6d. A graphic sketch of one of the most exciting and important episodes in the struggle for supremacy in Central Africa between the Arabs and their European rivals. Apart from the story of the campaign.

Captain Hinde's book is mainly remarkable for the fulness with ivhich he discvisses the question of cannibalism. The details given may repel some readers, but for the rest Captain Hinde's book has a distinct and genuine interest for every one who cares, however slightly, for Central African affairs. It is, indeed, the only connected English, at any Avhich has been published of this particular episode in African Times. "His narrative is rife with thrilling interest, and abounds in descriptive matter throwing much new lighten native life in Central Africa On the whole, thei'e is not a page in tho book which is not thoroughly readable. If merit be a criterion of The Fall of the Congo Arabs' should achieve a widespread Daily Telegraph.
